Backup / SAN / Storage Specialist

This role will be responsible for developing and implementing key strategies and plans concerning Data Storage, Backup and Security, taking into consideration all available technologies and business requirements. It will be responsible for the design, installation, monitoring and maintenance of the storage and backup estate, and for providing it with the correct levels of security and resilience. The role will have direct responsibility for the disaster recovery policies and procedures, as well as ensuring that the appropriate test regimes are planned and executed.

Stellenbeschreibung
  • Planning the Storage, Backup, and Security strategy, including ownership for all data classification.
  • Implementation of Storage based solutions including Storage Consolidation, SAN, Backup and Disaster Recovery Solution in line with defined strategy.
  • Define, design, execute and monitor Solution testing.
  • Identify, define, and develop improvements to processes that support the infrastructure.
  • Second level support for troubleshooting, problem escalation and resolution post implementation.
  • Providing technical assistance to the rest of the infrastructure team.
  • Perform management reporting.
  • Work together with IT Managers, the Helpdesk and other areas of IT.
  • Extensive experience in Storage Consolidation, Backup and Recovery and Disaster Recovery either as Teammember or Project Lead.
  • Extensive experience of Backup Solutions.
  • Hands on Storage and SAN Expert.
  • Experienced in maintaining and troubleshooting large mission critical installations.
  • In depth experience and understanding of Storage Architecture and SAN design especially with large scaleimplementation experience.
  • Excellent knowledge on SAN / NAS / FC Switches / Tape Libraries.
  • Should have strong technical experience/ expertise with applications to integrate with backup software.
  • Should be able to architect solutions on above platforms.
  • Strong understanding of all IT security standards and products.
Anforderungsprofil
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience of designing storage and backup strategies at an enterprise level.
  • Awareness of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) very beneficial.
  • Any Microsoft/Linux qualifications very beneficial.
  • Highly motivated with a desire to improve skills, processes and procedures.
  • Fluent English and a fluent German would be a plus.
